About

Technically, our name is R. S. Rubber Stamp Company. RS was purchased in 1990 but the owner, Michele, grew up around stamps. Her mother owned the original shop, which was sold to another party (which Michele then reacquired back in 1990). The majority of our business is in stamps for both business and personal uses. However, our business has been bolstered by a rotary engraver, which is a contact method of engraving. Using the rotary, we can make a variety of signs with some limitations.

In October of 2011, we finally acquired a laser engraver. Laser engraving is a non-contact method of marking and engraving. While a CO2 laser cannot cut into metal, it can leave a beautiful, permanent mark. A good rule of thumb is anything that can catch fire can be laser engraved, as it’s basically burning away the part of the material that isn’t wanted. To date, we have done iPods, iPads, leather cases, wood boxes, medallions and knives, just to name a few.

R.S. is run on women power, namely by Michele and Anne. Occasionally we have help from the “boys,” as we term them, but most of the time you will be assisted by Michele or Anne. Aside from being women operated, we are also a small, local business. We try to get your engraving to you in a timely manner – generally speaking, turnaround time is 2-3 days. This is from time of approval of work. Obviously, we attempt to get it done more quickly but since we are small, we try to make sure ample time is devoted to every project for quality.
